As climate breakdown continues and we face global threats like the US pulling out of the Paris agreement, and local threats like potential laws making fracking easier and loss of regulation once we leave the European Union, action to ensure that Waldringfield remains a resilient community is urgent.
This summer, we met every Tuesday to exchange ideas about a particular climate-related topic.
One volunteer gave a 5-minute introduction to spark things off, then we discussed each topic. We based the idea on the Transition Streets model.
The aim was to take away one short-term Action, which we could do individually, right away.
We also hoped to take away one long-term Action, which one or more members would undertake to research.
